Angie Schick

I’ve known Angie since 1999 when we were neighbours in Ottawa, Ontario during our Communications Co-op placements from SFU. I e-mailed Angie on August 6, 2008 and asked her the following questions. Her responses are listed below my questions:

1. Where did you grow up?

A nice home in Richmond, BC.

2. What did you want to be when you were a kid?

A university professor!

3. How would you describe to someone like me what you do for a living?

Short answer I usually give: I make video games.

Slightly longer answer: I’m the project manager for a 50-person game development team working on a cool action/platforming adventure game for kids. The project manager is responsible for a big variety of tasks from managing the schedule of the entire game, to talking with people when they have problems, to organizing team events. Every day is slightly different, but always fast paced and always fun. We’re making games, after all!

4. How would you describe what you do to someone who has no idea what your industry is about?

Everyone knows what video games are, don’t they?!
